Pawleys Island, SC

Pawleys Island is the southern most tip of the Grand Strand.  There are only two bridges for entry onto the beach and island portion, one at each end. The Pawleys Island mainland has thrived and built up with the island and beach portion set apart.  You’ll notice the distinct differences from the mailand to the island.  Pawleys Island is best known for its hammocks, which are made by locals, and Pawleys Point, a public beach access at the southern tip of the island. The island is actually a narrow peninsula with the Waccamaw River’s semi-salt water on one side and the Atlantic Ocean on the other side.  The two meet at the tip and create a very unusual and beautiful natural merging of the two bodies of water.  Pawleys Island is definitely a one of a kind lifestyle and the quaint shops, dining and architecture are unparalleled. If you’re looking of that true hospitality and low country lifestyle, lay back in the hammock and come home to Pawleys Island!
